Suzanne + Ryan - Mountain Air Country Club Wedding Day Preview - Burnsville NC Photographer

Happy Monday guys! I had hoped to have this post up about an hour ago, but while putting away dishes after dinner, a casserole dish shattered in my hand into a million pieces. One of our cats thought it appropriate to attempt to eat some of the glass while I stood in the kitchen bleeding (just barely… but it’s my story and I intend to be dramatic) and hollering at the top of my lungs for Will to come help me. He didn’t hear me so I  I held one cat and ran for Will to come safely remove the other from the situation. What a mess.

So as you can imagine, once that was all cleaned up, I was thrilled to jump back into preparing this post to go live. Ya’ll, Saturday was a dream come true for us. Anyone that knows us knows that Will and I love the mountains. Seriously, I’m not sure why we haven’t packed up and moved (especially now that we have one less casserole dish to pack). We always jump for joy when we get e-mails in our inbox asking us to capture mountain weddings. When Suzanne and Ryan messaged with their plans for an October wedding at Mountain Air Country Club, I’m pretty sure we did a little happy dance in the kitchen. And ya’ll…. the day was every bit as beautiful and special as they described it.

Suzanne wore her grandmother’s wedding gown. Her mother was lucky enough to have worn it at her wedding. And we were thrilled that Suzanne chose to wear it for a third generation wedding. They chose to say “I do” at Mountain Air, where Suzanne’s parents have a summer home and their family has already made lots of fond memories. After their beautiful mountainside ceremony (and being absolute troopers trekking all over the mountaintop for photos), they celebrated with not one, but TWO bands. Ya’ll, it was the first time that Will and I had seen a celebration with an Arabic band and I hope it’s not our last. So much joy and happiness from the time they entered the reception!

Week after week, Will and I talk about how much we love our jobs. Seriously, we think it’s such an amazing blessing to love our work. But it will never be the views, the grand decor/flowers, or the entertainment that makes us feel so lucky… It’s always the people we are blessed enough to meet. Suzanne lights up the room wherever she is. She has the most infectious smile and her joy for life is heartwarming. She makes everyone feel welcomed and loved. And Ryan complements his bride so well. He is funny. He is smart. He is likable, and he, too, has a smile that gives you the “feel goods.” My only complaint about this lovely couple… They live in Florida! Otherwise, we’d make every attempt to make them friends.

We hope you guys will enjoy some of our favorite shots from Suzanne and Ryan’s big day!
