Heather & Nash - Melrose Knitting Mill Wedding Preview - Raleigh NC Photographer

Will and I sometimes have a hard time explaining to our friends and family exactly why we are so willing to give up almost every Saturday afternoon and evening to shoot weddings. After eight years in the industry, we still enjoy the excitement of the hustle and bustle of watching the wedding day play out. We still enjoy wedding food and cake each week. We love the awesome dance parties and having a sparkler exit to wind down the night. But to be honest, those moments are not why we do this. We live for the real moments. The moments that 99% of wedding guests never get to experience. Heather and Nash’s wedding day was filled with those precious moments. One of my favorite moments from the days was just as Heather sat down for her final make-up touch-ups. She said quietly and to no one in particular “I’m just so happy.” Her mother came over not even a minute later and without having heard Heather say those same words, she also announced “Heather, I’m just SO happy” and then they held hands for the briefest of moments and inside I melted because I felt just so lucky to have experienced a real genuine moment on one of the best days of Heather’s life. My other favorite experience from the day was riding the Raleigh Trolley with Heather and her bridesmaids and hearing Heather say over and over that she was just so excited to see Nash and to experience their first look. Ya’ll… getting to see our clients in REAL moments is what we live for. It’s 100% worth giving up our Saturday afternoons and evenings. It’s what makes it worth spending all day Sunday feeling like we have 90 year old bodies from the hard work put in the day before. It’s what makes spending the next week editing worth it. We hope all of our clients know how much they are loved and appreciated by us. Heather and Nash, we loved every moment of your big day and we can’t wait to finish editing away at your photos and video! We hope every day of the rest of your life is as magical and full of love as Saturday was!
